Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Fence Alerter (operated by Wiregrass Property Management LLC) collects, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash) and your dog's name.
Phone numbers you add for alerts.
Location data: the positions of your dog's collar and, when available, your handheld, as relayed by the Fence Alerter client, plus the fence and kennel location you draw. Position history is kept for 30 days for the trail feature, then deleted.
Client and device data: your PC's name, the client version, connection status and error logs, used to keep the service working and to help with support.
Usage data: the IP address and browser used to sign in, for security and to limit trial abuse.

What we do not collect

We do not track you across other websites, we do not sell personal data, and the client never sends anything to the collar or handheld beyond the read-only requests needed to receive positions.

How we use it

To show your dog on the map, evaluate your fence, place the calls and send the texts you asked for, run and secure the service, provide support and process billing.

Who we share it with

Service providers that act on our behalf: Twilio (phone calls and text messages), Cloudflare (hosting and network security), Google (map imagery in the portal) and our email provider for account messages. Each receives only what it needs. We disclose data when the law requires it.

Retention

Position history is deleted after 30 days. Account data is kept while your account is open and for up to 90 days after it closes, then deleted, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to our servers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away at the address below if you suspect a problem with your account.

Your choices

You can edit your phone numbers and settings in the portal, disarm alerts, and ask us to export or delete your data at any time by emailing us. Texts can be stopped by replying STOP.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

We will post changes here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the portal.
